Do you have what it takes to tackle the Tour of Tameside challenge? The four day event gives runners five choices that challenge varied abilities. Lace up your trainers and fundraise for Tameside 4 Good to improve lives in Tameside.

On Thursday 16th June – Sunday 19th June, the Tour of Tameside, will attract runners from across the globe. Experienced runners can take on all four events or you can challenge yourself to a one day event. Choose from the Cross Trail Park Bridge Country Park / Daisy Nook Country Park, Copley 6 miles fell run, High Peak Half Marathon or the Hyde 7 mile road race.

Amy Rowlands, Tameside 4 Good fundraiser, commented: “This is a unique opportunity for local people to improve their own health by training while also improving the lives of their family, friends and neighbours that live in Tameside by fundraising for Tameside 4 Good.”

Brother UK employees

Brother UK is Tameside 4 Good’s supporter of the month. Since Tameside 4 Good launched in October 2012, the team at Brother UK has continued to demonstrate its dedication to the Tameside community. The Audenshaw head office donated use of a meeting room to hold the first Match Made in Tameside event as well as taking part as a business seeking to offer support to Tameside community groups. The community minded business continues to encourage the local business community to engage in corporate social responsibility to improve the lives of local people.

Droylsden Glass fundraising for Painted Pink

Droylsden Glass is Tameside 4 Good’s supporter of the month (March). Since attending Tameside 4 Good’s Match Made in Tameside business charity networking event in November 2015, the award-winning double glazing installer has worked in partnership with Tameside 4 Good to donate much needed resources to local good causes, selected Tameside Sight as its charity of the year and raised £415 for Tameside 4 Good’s #PaintedPink. Thank you to everyone at Droylsden Glass for supporting good causes in Tameside.

Droylsden Glass fundraising for Painted Pink

Thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising campaign #PaintedPink. On Friday 12 and Saturday 13th February 2016, from pink tea parties to a sponsored canoe along Ashton Canal you raised £5223.70 to improve local lives.

Workplaces and community groups across Tameside organised fundraising activities. The Grafton Centre in Hyde hosting a party with Tameside Voices performing and a pink quiz which raised £260.51. 12th Ashton Rainbows organised a sponsored gymazing event  which collected a whooping £350.20. 

Every penny donated to Tameside 4 Good funds activities for disadvantaged young people, aged 5 – 25, and Tameside community group projects that alleviate poverty, improve health, and develop skills, education and employment.

Amy Rowlands, Tameside 4 Good development worker, commented: “I would like to thank everyone who organised, attended and donated to #PaintedPink activities. It was fantastic to see so many fun and creative fundraising activities taking place across Tameside. It created a swell of community spirit as local people fundraised for Tameside 4 Good which aims to improve the lives of local people.”
